Head of Accounting (m/w/d)

Tasks

• Responsibility for the compliant and accurate accounting as well as financial reporting of the German entities in accordance with HGB and IFRS
• Ensuring the timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including the required IFRS reporting packages for Group reporting purposes
• Responsibility for consolidation activities and close coordination with the Group regarding reporting requirements, accounting policies, and closing processes
• Ensuring compliance with Group accounting policies and driving the continuous improvement of processes, standards, and internal controls
• Acting as the primary contact for auditors, tax advisors, and internal and external stakeholders on accounting and audit-related matters
• Responsibility for intercompany reconciliations and ensuring the accurate recording of intercompany transactions
• Further development and optimization of accounting processes as well as the ERP and reporting landscape in collaboration with relevant departments
• Leading, developing, and mentoring the accounting team while building a high-performing and scalable finance organization

Profile

• Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a comparable qualification
• At least 10–15 years of professional experience in finance and accounting, ideally within an international environment
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, HGB, and Group accounting principles
• Hands-on experience in preparing IFRS reporting packages for Group consolidation
• Strong understanding of accounting processes and experience working with ERP systems, ideally SAP S/4HANA
• Experience reporting to a listed parent company is considered an advantage
• Proven leadership experience in accounting, combined with the ability to develop and empower teams through targeted coaching and training
• Business-fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken
